CIAA was recently featured on the PSI Services, LLC podcast! CIAA board member, Rachel Schoenig, had the opportunity to join Dr. Isabelle Gonthier, Chief Assessments Officer at PSI, for a powerful conversation on the future of academic and exam integrity and the growing threats facing the credentialing industry.
During the discussion, Rachel shared her journey into the assessment industry and highlighted the rising sophistication of commercial cheating services. From surrogate test takers where people are hired to take the test for you, to the use of AI-driven tools and virtual proxies, these threats continue to challenge the security of education and credentialing exams. Even more concerning, some of these operations are being VC funded or publicly traded, fueling their rapid growth and reach.
Rachel also explained how these challenges inspired the formation of CIAA. Industry leaders recognized that unchecked cheating not only undermines the value of education and credentials but also poses serious risks to society, especially in fields where trusted expertise is critical, such as medicine, law, and aviation. CIAA was created to unite organizations in the fight against commercial cheating and to safeguard the integrity of professional credentials worldwide. Watch the full podcast below to learn how CIAA and its partners are protecting the assessment industry from evolving threats and ensuring that credentials continue to reflect genuine knowledge, skills, and competencies of the registered test taker.
